Summary

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MO has an immediate opening for a full-time parish Business Manager. The Business Manager is a leadership position, responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the financial condition, facilities management and human resources of the parish. Serving as the primary on-site decision maker with matters of significance. This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.


Essential Duties

  • Manage and direct all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Supervise administrative staff, volunteers and contractors
  •  Manage all aspects of facility maintenance, purchasing, contracts, and human resource function
  • Administer and review budget process, reports, and meetings with Pastor and Finance Council
  • Direct the office administrative functions related to parish ministries and daily operations
  • Oversee and coordinate parish development activities such as special events, estate planning, and donor programs
  • Manage the human resource needs of parish staff, including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, medical leave, and policy implementation
  • Assist with long-term planning and stewardship initiatives
  • Ensures compliance with diocesan and legal standards
  • Advises Pastor on operational decisions
  • Manage administrative assistant and maintenance technician


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or accounting or related experience
  • Five or more years’ experience in management, accounting, finance, or business operations
  • Experience with ParishSoft preferred, but not required
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in QuickBooks, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Knowledge or familiarity of Catholic parish operations preferred
