Western National is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team!
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to lead and influence the full requirements lifecycle across multiple product workstreams, drive business analysis for complex initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement across teams and processes.

What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Collaborates with product teams to execute the full requirements lifecycle across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs and delivery of customer value.
- Performs business analysis for mixed-complexity and high-impact processes and system enhancements with minimal guidance.
- Participates in ticket intake, work refinement, estimation, and troubleshooting activities, including resolution of production issues and communication of impacts.
- Works closely with product and change control teams to ensure quality deliverables and successful implementation of solutions.
- Creates and maintains documentation, including system, process, and support materials defined as critical by the organization.
- Guides requirements activities across teams, supporting diverse business processes and software implementations with varying levels of risk and complexity.
- Applies advanced business analysis tools, techniques, and best practices to deliver strategic value across applications and domains.
- Identifies root causes of issues across systems and processes, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
- Leads process improvement initiatives and influences adoption of best practices across teams and the business analyst community.
- Analyzes business plans, metrics, and reporting to identify requirements, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements.
- Supports additional activities as needed, including testing, roadmap planning, and deployment coordination.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria (e.g., clear, testable, actionable).
- Advanced analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently and manage assignments through completion.
- Strong organization and multitasking skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and lead change with positive influence.
- Proficient with business analysis practices and requirements lifecycle execution.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of databases and data models with the ability to write basic SQL queries.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Seven or more years of experience in IT or a related field.
- Five or more years of business analyst experience across multiple domains and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced business analyst certification, such as CBAP.
- Experience in property-and-casualty insurance.
- Agile certification and experience working within Agile frameworks.
Compensation overview
The targeted hiring range for this role is $93,100 - $128,040, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate, as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
