Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our financial reporting team. The Accountant is responsible for preparing financial information for management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Accounting (or a relevant degree), has strong attention to detail, and superb analytical skills. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience with multifamily housing, with emphasis on Affordable Housing.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist with preparation for year-end audit, and schedule requests of external auditors
- Assist with the establishment, documentation, and continuous improvement of all financial processes, workflows, and forms
- Guides accounting staff and consultants by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information for investors, lenders, and partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Multifamily Property Management Accounting (required)
- Experience in Yardi or affordable housing programs (required)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with strong emphasis on Excel)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills
