Be part of a dynamic team supporting Army Educational Outreach Programs (AEOP). The National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) seeks a Sr. Manager of STEM Learning and Educator Engagement to lead the instructional strategy and educational experience for the eCYBERMISSION STEM competition. This role is responsible for the design, alignment, and continuous improvement of all educational content and learning initiatives, including oversight of the Mini-Grant and STEM-In-Action Grant programs.
The Educational Content Manager serves as the subject matter expert for curriculum and instructional design, ensuring that all program components align with national and state standards and reflect best practices in STEM education. This role works cross-functionally to enhance participant engagement, support Team Advisors, and drive measurable program outcomes.
This position reports to the eCYBERMISSION Program Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of the competition’s educational framework, ensuring alignment with national and state standards and current best practices in STEM education.
- Own the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy, including lesson plans, educator guides, multimedia resources, and instructional materials that support diverse learners.
- Oversee the Mini-Grant and STEM-In-Action Grant programs, including program design, participant engagement, compliance, and reporting; ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
- Drive educator engagement and retention strategies by building strong relationships with Team Advisors and delivering high-impact support and resources.
- Design, implement, and evaluate professional learning programs for educators, including both in-person and virtual experiences.
- Analyze program data and participant feedback to inform continuous improvement of educational content and delivery.
- Serve as the primary instructional design expert, advising internal stakeholders on curriculum alignment, pedagogy, and learner experience.
- Lead presentations and represent the program externally at conferences, events, and virtual forums to a range of audiences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support all phases of the competition and ensure alignment between educational content and program operations.
- Identify risks and opportunities within program delivery and proactively recommend solutions to enhance program effectiveness.

- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable program improvements.
- Experience designing and delivering engaging presentations in both virtual and in-person settings.
- High level of initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel is required, including attendance at the National Judging & Educational Event, conferences, and other program-related activities in support of eCYBERMISSION and AEOP.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree (M.A., M.Ed., or equivalent) in instructional design, curriculum and instruction, STEM education, e-learning, or a related field.
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in curriculum development, instructional design, STEM education, or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience leading educational programs or initiatives, including strategy development and implementation.
- Experience managing or overseeing grant-funded programs, including compliance and reporting.
- Strong background in professional learning and adult education.
- Experience working on national or large-scale education programs preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom).
- Experience with digital content development tools and multimedia learning environments preferred.

$90,000 - $100,000K
POSITION LOCATION
This position is remote with core hours between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM eastern.
