The Assembly Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting components and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity by identifying defects, documenting results, and collaborating with production and supervision teams to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished components for compliance with blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications using appropriate measuring and inspection tools.
- Conduct visual and functional inspections to identify defects, improper fit, or workmanship issues.
- Review assembly processes to confirm proper adherence to documented procedures and specifications.
- Document inspection results accurately by completing quality checklists, inspection reports, and nonconformance records.
- Communicate quality issues clearly and promptly to supervisors and assembly personnel.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to reduce rework and defects.
- Perform final quality inspections and sign-offs prior to shipment or customer handoff.
- Maintain inspection tools and equipment, including confirming calibration status and reporting issues.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and clean work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team objectives by supporting overall production and quality goals as needed.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with basic quality control concepts and inspection methods.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing customer requirements and work environments.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 40–50 lbs as needed.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Requires standing, bending, and performing repetitive inspection tasks.
- Safety shoes with composite toe reinforcement required.
