Description

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Shop Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the disassembly and preparation of industrial equipment for refurbishment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, punctual, and able to communicate clearly within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical disassembly of industrial equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Prepare equipment for refurbishment, including:

       o Cleaning

       o Sanding

       o Blasting

       o Masking

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow shop procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding job status and any issues that arise.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Mechanical experience with hand tools and power tools (required).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to cleanliness.
  • Punctual and reliable work habits.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • To perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to:
  • Frequently move throughout the shop and work around industrial equipment during the workday.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and position oneself to perform equipment disassembly and refurbishment.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in the refurbishment process.
  • Use hands to grasp, handle, manipulate, and assemble mechanical components, including repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, moving mechanical equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection, as required.
  • Maintain visual acuity sufficient to inspect equipment, identify defects, read labels, gauges, and work instructions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
