Compensation: The starting wage for this position is $17.13/hour.

Wage Range $17.13 - $21.00/hour

Job Description

The Truss Rod Manufacturer is responsible for executing all stages of the truss rod manufacturing process, creating parts that serve to maintain the structural integrity and intonation of the guitar neck. Key responsibilities include operating CNC lathes, processing metal, brazing, and conducting quality inspections on parts before advancing them to the next stage of production.


Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities Include:

  • CNC operation to include changing and maintaining tooling, running, cleaning, pausing, and filling the lathe, and observing and listening for proper machine operation.
  • Conducting quality control checks using visual inspection and measurements.
  • Operation of metal working equipment such as bandsaws, grinders, etc.
  • Processing raw manufacturing materials such as steel, plastic, paper, etc.
  • Brazing metal parts using an oxyacetylene torch.
  • Truss rod inventory level monitoring and maintenance.
  • Meeting and maintaining expected production numbers.
  • General maintenance tasks for Truss Rod Department and other crews.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of relevant woodworking, fast paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A basic knowledge of:

  • metalworking, and/or brazing preferred.

A general knowledge of:

  • of a variety of electric metal shop tools, other electric tools and hand tools.

Able to:

  • stand and walk for an 8-hour period.
  • ascend and descend stairs.
  • bend, reach and twist upper and lower body.
  • detect and respond to auditory cues (e.g. change in machinery noise/rhythm, alarms, etc.).
  • move items up to 50 lbs.
  • wear a tight-fitting respirator, which may require no facial hair to ensure a proper seal.
  • travel between local worksites.
  • stay focused and alert with a high level of attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
  • work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards.
  • maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period.
  • maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period.
  • navigate and use Excel, Word, Outlook, (Microsoft Office Suite).

Working Environment:

This position does not supervise other positions. It is full-time, onsite, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work location for this position is manufacturing and may occasionally experience a loud, dusty, and/or oily environment, and solvent and brazing fumes. This work area is not temperature controlled and may experience higher temperatures in the summer. This individual will primarily work independently but may interact with team members as needed throughout the day.
