Working closely with the Director of Volunteer Engagement, you’ll shape the Habitat for Humanity volunteer experience from first contact to ongoing involvement, ensuring every interaction is welcoming and inspiring.
In this dynamic role, you’ll serve as the go-to for volunteer coordination—managing scheduling, maintaining calendars, and responding to inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm.
You’ll also bring creativity to recruitment efforts, designing outreach campaigns that attract diverse volunteers through social media, partnerships, and community networks. Whether you’re leading information sessions or streamlining processes behind the scenes, your work will directly contribute to growing and strengthening engagement across the organization.

This is a part-time (20-30 hours/week), hybrid role with a flexible schedule available Tuesdays-Fridays during standard business hours.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Play a key role in building a vibrant, mission-driven volunteer community. You’ll lead efforts to attract, connect, and onboard volunteers across multiple departments—creating meaningful experiences that make a real difference.
Volunteer Recruitment & Outreach
- Develop and launch creative campaigns to attract diverse volunteers through social media, online platforms, and community partnerships
- Represent the organization by hosting engaging information sessions that inspire people to get involved
Communication & Scheduling
- Act as the go-to resource for volunteer coordination, supporting both individuals and groups
- Manage and optimize scheduling systems to ensure a seamless volunteer experience
- Respond to inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm, helping prospective volunteers feel welcomed and informed
Onboarding & Experience
- Lead onboarding sessions that set volunteers up for success and connect them to the organization’s mission
- Create a positive, organized, and inclusive first impression for all new volunteer
· Understand and appreciate the mission of Habitat for Humanity
· Communicate effectively (written and verbal) and deal tactfully and professionally with a variety of people
· Comfort with public speaking to large groups of people
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficient understanding of MS Office suite
· Able to navigate between PC and mobile device applications as needed
· Ability to work in an open office environment
Physical Demands
· Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
· Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds and will experience bending, squatting, lifting
Experience
· 2 years of professional or community-based experience preferred
· Volunteer program management or human resources experience preferred
Education
· BA or BS preferred, or equivalent work experience
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
· Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required
