Job Responsibilities
- Communicating test status and results to Lab Manager
- Collect asphalt samples from plants, job sites, or roadways
- Perform laboratory tests on asphalt binder and mixtures
- Prepare samples for testing using ovens, sieves, and compaction equipment
- Record and analyze test results accurately
- Compare results against project specifications and standards
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment
- Prepare reports for engineers, contractors, or project managers
- Assist with troubleshooting material performance issues
- Follow safety and quality control procedures
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Adhering to deadlines
- Ability to be flexible during peak times
- Promoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Assisting with AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) proficiency testing as required
- Great attention to detail is required
- Reporting any issues to the supervisor/manager
- Any other task requested by the supervisor/ manager
Job Skills & Requirements
- Industry certifications required:
- 1A (Required)
- Familiarity with lab equipment and computers
- Physical ability to handle materials and stand for long periods
- Love and enjoy working indoors/outdoors.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
- Understanding the importance of QC (Quality Control) in the laboratory.
- Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitude
- Attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
- Basic Math knowledge.
- Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Available to work long hours and weekends
- Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager
