Position Summary: Our Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sending out Requests for Quotes to our qualified Sub Network candidates, analyzing the submitted quotes, and recommending subcontractors to our Sales Team. Once awarded, the Sourcing Specialist establishes the Sub Purchase Order and negotiates to obtain the best and most competitive pricing. The Sourcing Specialist participates in continuous 360-degree feedback to advance the selection and evaluation of the contractor network, continually improving upon network strengths and building out areas of opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with established subcontractors, addressing any issues or concerns and ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with new subcontractor base to secure long-term partnerships.
Subcontractor Selection
- Identify, Source, Evaluate, and Select subcontractors based on their expertise, performance history, and ability to meet project requirements.
- Act as the single point of contact for contractor bid sourcing in an assigned territory.
- Proactively weigh decisions, recommendations, and actions against their material impact on the bottom line.
- Understand the economics of the processes and align contractor selection and resources accordingly for client delivery.
Contract Negotiation
- Negotiate subcontractor agreements, including terms, pricing, and scope of work, to ensure favorable conditionals and project success.
- Negotiate win-win-win solutions and favorable terms and support for growing the business
- Write, edit, and format all RFQ/Proposal deliverables while maintaining on-time execution.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) and others in the Sourcing & Procurement Team to align subcontractor activities with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Reporting
- Partner with the PM Coordinator to prepare and present regular reports on subcontractor performance and network status to senior management.
Network Management
- Work with the Project Management and others in the Sourcing & Procurement Team, develop and maintain a robust network of qualified subcontractors, ensuring they meet our performance and quality standards.
- Lead and conduct at least 1 Annual Subcontractor Business Review (QBR) using performance data captured in the Power BI Scorecard.
- Proactively assess decisions, recommendations, and actions against their material impact on the bottom line.
Customer Experience
- Look for options that accomplish objectives without compromising profitability or the customer experience.

- Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties assigned.
- Participate in required training and certifications to stay current with industry standards and company practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in subcontractor management, construction coordination, or similar.
- Construction or Concrete/Asphalt experience, a plus.
- Coursework in Construction/Project Management, a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions and next steps.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility and Team growth-mindset.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with a typical workweek of 40 or more hours, with additional hours as needed to support business operations. Employees may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement, based on their proven track record and location eligibility. To support collaboration with our team and clients, candidates available during CST/EST business hours are preferred. This role requires up to 20% travel.

Expected Salary Range:
The expected salary range offered for this position is $62,900.00 - $91,330.80 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on various factors including but not limited to, experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary bonus or commissions.
