Hedrick Bank is an office of South Ottumwa Savings Bank in Hedrick, Iowa. We have a current opening for a Branch Manager/Personal Banker at our Hedrick Bank Office.
The Branch Manager/Personal Banker in our Hedrick Bank Office oversees the daily operations and management of the branch, including the facility’s employees, premises, and equipment. They are accountable for ensuring that efficient and quality service is provided to our customers; providing customers with various products offered directly at the branch location; referring customers and prospective customers to other specific departments, as needed, in support of Bank-wide products and services; supporting Bank goals, initiatives, and growth; and ensuring applicable regulations and bank policies and procedures are complied with in the process of transacting business.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the Hedrick Bank staff and day-to-day activity and operations of the location.
- Hiring, training, and development of office staff. Mentor and coach employees. Track employee performance and attendance and discipline as needed. Conduct performance reviews of facility employees.
- Oversight of premises and equipment which includes appearance, cleanliness, functionality of the location and monitoring security systems.
- Maintain existing client relationships by providing an elevated level of customer service with a friendly and professional attitude. Assist customers with questions regarding their accounts and banking procedures and help them find solutions to their needs or concerns by making suggestions for improvements to current products or services.
- Coordinate, promote, and sell all products and services provided by the Bank. Refer customers and prospective customers to other departments and personnel for specific products and services (i.e., Loans, Investments, Trust).
- Assist new and existing customers in opening and closing deposit accounts. Manage the details of the customers’ needs. Prepare signature cards, disclosures, legal documents, etc. Cross-sell products as appropriate.
- Balance and maintain a cash drawer for teller transactions and cash vault within security guidelines. Assist tellers with balancing and any other teller or vault activity as needed. Ensure teller cash drawers and vault cash are in balance at the end of each business day.
- Become an active member in the community by attending networking events and developing relationships with leaders in the community. Participate in community through volunteerism, leadership, and involvement with civic and non-profit organizations.
- Know and comply with all Bank policies and procedures pertaining to the position and become familiar with all Bank products and services.
- Perform all other duties or bank-wide projects as assigned by management.
- This is a salaried, exempt from overtime position with a daytime schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday in Hedrick and 1-2 scheduled Saturday mornings per month in alternate branch locations.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a background screening including a credit and criminal check. Previous banking experience or experience in a financial institution with background in personal banking/deposit services, cash handling, and customer service required. Management experience preferred. Excellent communication, general math, and problem-solving skills as well as computer aptitude and ability to read cursive writing are required. Must have a current driver’s license and reliable transportation with the ability to drive to other locations for orientation, training, and coverage on scheduled Saturday mornings and other occasions, as needed. Requires close visual acuity and ability to adjust focus, speaking, hearing, use of hands and fingers, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
