Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports the operational functions of the People & Culture department and serves as a primary employee and leadership support resource across Goodman Community Center.
Why This Role Is Important
Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, this role helps ensure managers and employees receive consistent support related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, corrective action processes, workforce compliance, training coordination, and day-to-day workforce operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Recruitment & Workforce Support
- Manage professional and leadership recruiting coordination activities
- Coordinate candidate communication, interview scheduling, and hiring process support
- Support workforce planning and staffing coordination activities
- Support onboarding execution, department onboarding consistency, and mission/culture onboarding
- Support supervisor onboarding activities and new hire integration
- Coordinate internship, seasonal, and youth workforce hiring support activities
Employee Relations & Workforce Operations
- Support employee relations intake, documentation, and workforce issue resolution
- Coordinate corrective action processes and performance improvement administration
- Support attendance management, workplace conduct monitoring, and employee accountability processes
- Support conflict resolution and team performance consultation activities
- Assist with workplace investigations and employee relations documentation
- Support employee engagement initiatives and employee wellness program coordination
- Support mission-sensitive corrective action and workforce participation initiatives
Training, Development & Organizational Support
- Coordinate employee training activities and leadership development activities
- Coordinate organizational learning and leadership development activities
- Support culture and values reinforcement initiatives
- Coordinate organizational training calendars and training logistics
- Support employee feedback review and survey follow-up activities
- Support organizational communication and change management implementation
- Coordinate cross-functional workforce communication regarding participant workforce needs
Compliance & Operational Coordination
- Support workforce compliance execution activities including youth workforce labor law compliance
- Support leave administration coordination including FMLA and ADA process support
- Coordinate worker’s compensation, unemployment claim response support, and employee documentation activities
- Support workforce participation retention and transitional employment support initiatives
- Assist with workforce reporting, turnover tracking, and workforce analytics support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5 years of HR experience preferred
- Experience with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and workforce operations
- Professional HR certification required
