The Recruitment & Engagement Specialist is responsible for managing job postings and coordinating job fairs while providing direct support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. This role partners closely with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to support workforce data tracking, administer staff engagement surveys, and develop reports that inform talent, engagement, and HR planning. The position plays a key role in strengthening recruitment efforts, improving the hiring experience, and supporting data-driven people decisions across the agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
- · *Develop, interpret, and implement recruitment strategies, procedures, and methods to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and compliance across all recruiting and onboarding activities.
- · *Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, exercising independent judgment in sourcing strategies, candidate evaluation, and process improvements.
- · *Direct the management of job boards and job postings, including strategic placement, posting, updating, and closing of positions across platforms such as Paylocity, Indeed, and other recruitment technologies.
- · *Leverage recruitment technologies and data-driven approaches to generate a high volume of qualified applicants.
- · *Serve as a strategic recruitment partner to hiring managers by providing consultation, guidance, and support throughout the hiring process.
- · *Conduct and/or oversee applicant screening, interview coordination, and interview processes as appropriate.
- · *Coordinate and ensure completion of pre-employment requirements, including employment verifications, medical checks, fingerprinting, and reference checks, in accordance with agency standards.
- · *Ensure recruiting and hiring practices comply with EEO, ADA, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- · *Represent the organization at external job fairs, career events, and professional networking activities as a designated employer representative.
- · *Plan, coordinate, and participate in a minimum of four (4) job fairs annually, exercising discretion in event selection and recruitment approach.
- · *Partner with the CPO and/or HR Generalists to plan and coordinate internal agency job fairs and establish recruiting event schedules.
- · Design, implement, manage, and survey the agencies internship program, including recruiting, onboarding, mentor coordination and training, and program assessment.
- · Provide oversight and guidance for mentor/mentee programs supporting interns and staff development.
- · *Plan, coordinate, and manage mid-year and year-end staff engagement and recognition events.
- · Support the administration, coordination, and analysis of staff, intern, and mentor engagement surveys, including communication and follow-up initiatives.
- · Partner with the CPO to track, analyze, and interpret workforce, recruitment, retention, and engagement metrics.
- · Prepare and present workforce analytics, dashboards, and reports for leadership review and decision-making.
- · Maintain oversight of accurate, confidential, and compliant recruitment, internship, and engagement documentation.
- · Promote employer branding and talent attraction initiatives through strategic outreach, communications, and recruitment activities.
- · Support agencies retention strategies through engagement initiatives and employee recognition programs.
- Must complete all required trainings in a timely manner.
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; a minimum of four (4) years of related professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience
- Four years of human resources experience preferred
- Nonprofit experience strongly preferred
- License and Credentials
- SHRM-CP, PHR, aPHR, or HRCI/SHRM Certificates, preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license, with clean driving record
- Valid automobile insurance
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
· Bilingual (English/Spanish)
· Knowledge of recruitment and hiring processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
· Working knowledge of EEO, ADA, and basic employment compliance requirements
· Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, and recruitment technologies
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with sound judgment
· Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
· Ability to analyze basic workforce or recruitment data and assist with reports
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard office technology
Travel Requirements:
Travel requirements for the position includes 20% local with occasional long-distance.
