About the Role

Anchor Innovation is seeking a Senior Maritime Maintenance Lead to serve as the N43 support representative for unmanned surface vessel (sUSV) operations.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for bridging waterfront maintenance execution, program office coordination, and long-term sustainment development. You will operate at the level of a Port Engineer or senior CHENG-equivalent, helping establish how maintenance is executed, tracked, and sustained across the fleet.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary maintenance liaison between operational units, program office (PMS), and supporting organizations
  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance execution across multiple sUSV platforms and support craft
  • Develop and refine maintenance processes aligned with Navy 3M principles and fleet expectations
  • Track system readiness, maintenance actions, and material status across platforms
  • Identify gaps in maintenance execution, documentation, tooling, and parts support—and drive solutions
  • Support development of preventative maintenance frameworks (MRCs, MIPs, etc)
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and technical authorities while reducing long-term reliance on external support
  • Advise leadership on maintenance readiness, risk, and sustainment strategy
  • Mentor and guide junior maintenance personnel and technicians

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 10+ years of maritime maintenance, engineering, or sustainment experience
  • Strong background in Navy maintenance processes (3M, CSMP, SKED, etc.)
  • Experience operating at a senior level (CHENG, Port Engineer, 3MC, or equivalent)
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders (fleet, program office, contractors)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and vessel systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting unmanned systems or emerging maritime platforms
  • Familiarity with logistics integration (COSAL, APL, NSN development, provisioning)
  • Experience working with program offices (PMS 406/420 or similar)
  • Background in expeditionary or forward-deployed maintenance environments
  • Experience building or standing up maintenance programs from early-stage efforts

Why This Role Matters

Maintenance is one of the biggest limiting factors in scaling unmanned systems. This role directly shapes how sustainment is executed—moving from reactive, contractor-driven support to structured, fleet-owned maintenance capability.
