The Templator is responsible for creating accurate digital templates and field measurements for countertop installations using company-approved systems and processes. This role works closely with homeowners, builders, sales, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure countertop projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. The Templator serves as a key link between the customer site and the fabrication shop by ensuring all measurements, notes, and specifications are complete prior to production. Requirements
  •  Perform on-site digital templating and measurements for countertop installations 
  • Create and submit accurate countertop templates using company systems and equipment 
  • Verify cabinet layouts, dimensions, appliance specifications, sink information, and jobsite readiness prior to fabrication 
  • Ensure all measurements, labels, cutouts, seams, edge details, and notes are complete and accurate before releasing jobs to production 
  • Communicate with homeowners, builders, sales teams, project managers, and fabrication teams regarding jobsite conditions or discrepancies 
  • Maintain templating schedules and provide customers with estimated arrival times and updates throughout the day 
  • Operate company vehicles safely and comply with all traffic laws and company safety requirements 
  • Maintain templating equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean and working condition 
  • Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements, including PPE requirements where applicable 
  • Identify and escalate issues that may impact fabrication, installation, scheduling, or customer satisfaction 
  • Maintain professional appearance and customer service standards while representing the company on jobsites 
  • Assist with collecting sinks, appliance information, and other required materials or specifications as needed 
  • Work closely with fabrication and installation teams to support successful project completion.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required 
  • Experience in countertop templating, cabinetry, carpentry, construction, millwork, or related field preferred 
  • Experience using digital templating systems and measuring tools preferred 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret measurements and layouts 
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily schedules efficiently 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills 
  • Ability to identify potential installation or fabrication concerns before production 
  • Basic computer and mobile technology skills required 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday 
  • Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as needed 
  • Ability to travel between jobsites daily 
  • Ability to work in residential construction and active jobsites 

Work Environment:

  • Frequent travel to residential and construction jobsites 
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environments 
  • Fast-paced environment with scheduling deadlines and changing priorities 

Preferred Experience:

  • Countertop industry experience 
  • Granite, quartz, or solid surface experience 
  • Construction or field measurement experience 
  • Experience working with builders and homeowners
