Position Summary:   

The Events & Marketing Coordinator serves a dual role in advancing the mission and visibility of Delmarva Christian School (DCS) through the coordination of school-wide events and strategic communication of the DCS story. This role ensures events are organized, welcoming, safe, and aligned with the mission of the school. The position works collaboratively with administration, faculty, advancement, athletics, admissions, volunteers, and community partners to create engaging experiences that strengthen school culture, support enrollment and retention efforts, and communicate how God is working through DCS.

  • Agreement with the DCS Statement of Faith
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Bachelors degree preferred 
  • Experience in event planning, communications, marketing, hospitality, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with photography, social media platforms, and content creation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, WordPress, and social media tools
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, vendors, and community members


Essential Responsibilities


Event Planning & Execution (Primary Focus)

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned PK–12 school events and programs
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of school events and activities
  • Develop event timelines, communication plans, logistics, and task management systems
  • Coordinate registrations, seating, signage, supplies, vendors, catering, equipment, and room setup
  • Ensure events are welcoming, organized, safe, and mission-aligned
  • Oversee event-day operations and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Collaborate with administration, advancement, admissions, athletics, and campus leadership on event execution
  • Assist in recruiting and organizing volunteers, ambassadors, and event support teams
  • Maintain event calendars, records, inventories, and post-event evaluations
  • Track event budgets and expenses


Marketing & Storytelling Support

  • Assist with capturing and communicating the story of DCS through photography, writing, social media, and digital content
  • Coordinate and assist with content capture at school events, classroom activities, athletics, arts, and student experiences
  • Photograph classroom lessons, special projects, and school programs to support marketing and storytelling efforts
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to identify and highlight meaningful student stories across all grade levels
  • Compose and publish social media posts highlighting student life, academics, athletics, arts, and school culture
  • Write press releases, website stories, captions, and promotional content for school communications
  • Support marketing campaigns related to enrollment, retention, advancement, and community engagement
  • Assist with maintaining consistent school branding across events and promotional materials


Admissions & Community Engagement

  • Assist with admissions and enrollment events including tours, shadow days, and open houses
  • Help facilitate Student Ambassador and Parent Ambassador programs
  • Support outreach initiatives and represent DCS at community events as assigned
  • Build positive relationships with families, churches, alumni, donors, and community partners
