POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Early Childhood Director, the Childcare Center Floater/Aide will be responsible for assisting with activities and providing coverage in classrooms, on the playground, during meals, and nap times. This position is projected to last 7-10 weeks. Possible permanent placement may be available at end of period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- ·Assists the classroom teacher to implement learning experiences.
- Assists children in accomplishing learning activities.
- Assists in monitoring children during meals, play, and nap time
- Provides coverage for classroom teachers, as needed.
- Relieves teachers and fills in for teacher absences, as needed.
- Assists the classroom teacher to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Participates in required training and workshops, as needed to meet NYS OCFS regulations.
- Performs other duties, as requested.
- A high school diploma is required.
- Experience in a childcare setting is preferred.
- A friendly, professional demeanor is required; must have the ability to relate to children and develop positive relationships.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Must hold or be able to obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications within 30 days of hire; must complete Child Abuse Prevention and Health and Safety course from NYS OCFS within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people representing all social and economic segments of the community.
- Proficiency in office software, as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to participate in a variety of physical activities; to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, walk, pull, push, sit, or stand for prolonged periods of time.
