Job Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt / Billable Hours

This is a Hybrid position in both pre-surveillance research and surveillance in the Omaha, NE area.  Frasco will offer comprehensive training as well as assist in obtaining NE licensing for the right candidate. Position Overview

Frasco is seeking a Hybrid Investigator to conduct pre-surveillance research and field surveillance. This role requires strong analytical skills, covert surveillance abilities, and independent work capability in both remote and field environments.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $18–$30 per hour (based on experience, education, and region)
  • Travel Time: Travel commute time is compensated at 100% of regular hourly rate, after standard commute deduction 
  • Mileage Reimbursement: $0.55 per mile for all portal-to-portal and mobile surveillance mileage
  • Paid Administrative Time: Paid at regular hourly rate (report writing, administrative time, etc.)

Key Responsibilities  

Surveillance Prep Research

  • Conduct database research via the internet and industry databases
  • Review and analyze case notes and case instructions to determine what developed information is pertinent to the requested field investigation
  • Complete well-written, detailed reports on findings within designated turnaround timeframe
  • Work closely with team members, regional managers, and service line directors to identify databases that produce accurate and relevant information based on the location of the subject being investigated
  • Edit investigative reports for formatting, spelling, and grammatical issues to ensure they are client ready when finalized
  • Alert regional managers to any issues related to investigative quality or compliance with investigative policies and procedures that may be identified during the report editing process.
  • Update and annotate corporate case management system with investigative notes and upload/save completed/edited reports

Surveillance Investigations

  • Conduct covert surveillance and activity checks for insurance claims and private investigations.
  • Capture and document video footage, including ID shots and subject activities.
  • Utilize legal pretext and investigative techniques to gather information.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with timestamps and supporting evidence.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to legal/ethical guidelines.
  • Adapt to irregular hours (nights, weekends, holidays) as investigations require.
  • Attend and testify at hearings when necessary.

Requirements
  • Private Investigator License for the State of Nebraska -  Frasco will assist in obtaining NE licensing for the right candidate 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Reliable vehicle for surveillance assignments (neutral color preferred)
  • Basic surveillance equipment (e.g., digital/covert cameras, laptop, smartphone)
  • High-speed, secure internet connection for research investigations
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and meet strict deadlines
  • Minimum auto insurance coverage: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident bodily injury/$50,000 property damage
  • Windows 11 or greater required, with 8+gb of RAM preferred
  • Mac OSX 13 or greater required for iMac

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, or related field
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
  • Experience in insurance claims, fraud investigations, or customer service
  • Military or law enforcement background preferred

Performance Standards

  • Maintain a minimum 45% success rate for obtaining surveillance footage
  • Capture at least 25% covert video of a subject’s activity in public-accessible locations
  • Lost subject rates must not exceed 8%
  • Burned subject rates must not exceed 3%
  • Reports and video footage must be submitted on the same day the investigation is completed
  • Maintain a minimum of 10% or less error rate for Research/Desktop investigations
