Summary/Objective

The Part-Time Shop Assistant (Shop & Yard Operations Support) employee provides hands-on assistance to the Operations team by maintaining company vehicles, equipment, shop, and yard areas. This role supports day-to-day operational efficiency through cleaning, light maintenance, job preparation, and general property upkeep.

This part-time role would approximate 20-29 hours per week.

Essential Functions

• Clean and detail company trucks, trailers, and equipment 
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed 
• Complete oil and filter changes on trucks and equipment 
• Prep jobs and materials as directed 
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe 
• Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and materials 
• Mow and maintain the property grounds 
• Assist Operations team with general labor and support tasks 
• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times

 Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred 
• Previous experience in shop, yard, maintenance, or labor roles a plus 
• Basic mechanical knowledge and comfort using tools 
• Ability to follow directions and work independently 
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail 
• Valid CDL Class C preferred

Work Environment

This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in a shop and yard environment. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, equipment noise, dust, and dirt. Proper safety equipment and training will be provided.

Physical Demands 

Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions year-round. Responsibilities include frequent lifting and carrying of materials or equipment weighing up to 75 lbs, extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and the operation of basic tools and equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Part-Time position. Schedule may vary based on operational needs, generally during weekday business hours.

Travel

Minimal travel expected. Occasional local travel may be required to support field operations.
