Position Purpose:
Support for clinical staff in education, use, and adoption of electronic health record applications and systems. Responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out day to day function of the electronic record, specific reports needed, and dictionary build, and updates as needed. Helps maintain computers and other hardware and software and ensures updates and functionality are working daily.

- Assist in the direction, supervision, and implementation of new technologies.
- Assure proper end user support for all new technologies.
- Be aware of and implement safety guidelines for internal and external environments for new technologies.
- Follow all documentation requirements including but not limited to any needed implementation documentation and develop quick reference guides for end users.
- Install and perform all needed updates with trouble shooting.
- Participate in the development and implementation of program activities for the information technology department to ensure forward thinking and thorough and patient intervention with all current hardware and software end users.
- Responsible for leading and assisting current and new users with trouble shooting.
- Able to communicate technical concepts in a way end users can understand.
- Actively participate in all program tickets as needed or assigned.
- Assist in program areas such as new interfaces, trouble shooting current interfaces, safety, and desktop standardization.
- Able to set up and deploy hardware and software as requested in working condition.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities.
- Follow infection control policies and universal precautions as applicable.
- Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies (included but not limited to any organizational policies for OSHA, MDS, etc.)
- Understands how to enter work orders to keep any hazardous or unsafe conditions from occurring or when they are identified.
- Keep work area clean and free of hazardous obstacles.
- Ensure that the proper forms are filled out and submitted for any disposed information systems equipment
- Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure utilization, proper care, and maintenance is adhered to; report repairs needed promptly to director.
- Be a role model to team members and others.
- Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures.
- Assist in training and orientation of new team members and students as needed.
- Have a good attitude and be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, families, physicians, and all others and exceed their expectations.
Other Job Duties:
- Participate enthusiastically in activities, planning, and leading as assigned.
- Participate as a member of any committees and teams as assigned (quality team, performance improvement, documentation or other electronic records teams, or interface teams as needed).
- Clean and store all equipment carefully and properly.
- Always maintain professional appearance.
Qualifications: (Minimum Education and Experience)
- College level nursing is required with a degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current licensure is expected and submitted as expiration and updates occur.
- Knowledge on electronic records and information systems and their application to healthcare environment. Experience operating both large scale and small-scale operating systems and hardware.
- Must pass background check and any other relevant onboarding.
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA and other related guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Assumes personal responsibility for competencies, certifications, annual education, and any other required tasks by due date assigned.
- Responsible for professional development and attending department educational in services and meetings. Over 80% attendance at all mandatory meetings required.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in all assigned areas.
- Reviews and complies with general hospital and departmental policies and applicable laws and regulations including CMS/OIG and other compliance and industry standards.
Physical Aspects of the Job:
- Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to users of all levels.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring help.
- Specific physical requirements include but are not limited to:
- Hand- Eye coordination and manual dexterity for activities and equipment accurate typing skills
- Normal Range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
