As a Host at Pali Wine Co. in the Funk Zone, you are the first point of connection for our guests and play a critical role in shaping the overall experience. You set the tone with a warm welcome, maintain flow and organization throughout service, and ensure every guest interaction feels thoughtful, seamless, and elevated.
- Greet every guest with genuine hospitality, creating a welcoming and professional first impression
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists while optimizing table flow and seating efficiency
- Oversee and maintain reservation systems (including TOCK), ensuring all guest information is accurate and up to date
- Confirm wine club membership status upon arrival and communicate relevant details to the service team
- Proactively share guest context (VIPs, members, special occasions, preferences) to enhance the guest experience
- Maintain a clean, organized, and polished host stand and entrance area at all times
- Assist with guest departures, including warm farewells and rebooking future reservations
- Provide general hospitality support to the service team as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Uphold company standards for service, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Previous host, hospitality, or guest-facing experience preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Personable, polished, and naturally hospitable demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable with technology, including reservation platforms (OpenTable and TOCK preferred)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively
Additional Details
- This is a non-tipped, part-time, hourly position
- This role averages approximately 18–20 hours per week
- Availability is primarily required on weekends (Friday through Sunday)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed
