Position Summary

The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Gifthealth's on-site security team. This role oversees a team of Security Officers, ensures compliance with all safety and security protocols, and serves as the primary point of contact between security staff and Gifthealth leadership. The Supervisor sets the standard for professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability across the team.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate a team of Security Officers to ensure consistent, high-quality coverage across all shifts.
  • Conduct daily briefings and debriefs; communicate policy updates, incident reports, and operational priorities to the team.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and escalations; prepare thorough written incident reports for Gifthealth management review.
  • Monitor access control systems, surveillance equipment, and alarm systems; escalate anomalies promptly.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of all facilities to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
  • Train new Officers on Gifthealth security procedures, emergency response protocols, and reporting standards.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and building management as needed.
  • Maintain security logs, visitor records, and compliance documentation in accordance with company policy.
  • Recommend improvements to security procedures and participate in periodic security audits.
  • Enforce workplace safety regulations and ensure staff adherence to all applicable policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role (required).
  • Valid security guard license (state-specific requirements apply (required)).
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) (required).
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage high-pressure situations calmly and professionally.
  • Ability to respond quickly to security related events and medical incidents, lift or carry equipment, participate in defensive tactics/personal protection training and numerous other physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, accurate incident reports.
  • Proficiency with access control systems, CCTV, and security monitoring technology.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated industry environments (preferred).
  • Prior experience managing scheduling and performance reviews for a security team (preferred).
  • OPOTA 120 Private Security training program or equivalent (preferred). 
  • Familiarity with OSHA workplace safety standards (preferred).

Work Environment

  • Location: On-site 
  • Schedule: Full-time 
  • May require additional availability during or flexibility for escalations.
  • Regular meetings with your teams, departments, or leadership to ensure alignment.

Key Essential Functions 

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for at least 4 hours at a time while working.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive physical motions throughout an entire shift, including bending, reaching, lifting, climbing stairs, patrolling, and operating security equipment.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies and physically navigate all areas of the facility as needed.
  • Must be able to work onsite for all scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to visually monitor surveillance systems and accurately observe surroundings for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by radio, phone, and written documentation during routine and emergency situations.
  • Must be able to safely operate security and access control equipment, including radios, CCTV systems, badge systems, and alarm monitoring technology.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure or emergency situations.
