Regional Sales Manager
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Davis Furniture is seeking a driven and relationship-oriented Regional Sales Manager to champion our independent rep network and serve as the vital link between our factory and the market. This role is fundamentally about enabling success — equipping our reps with the product knowledge, strategic support, and factory-level advocacy they need to close deals and support our customers. The ideal candidate brings a passion for design, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative mindset that thrives in a fast-paced, people-first environment.

Requirements

Location & Work Environment

This position is based at our factory and corporate headquarters in High Point, NC. In-office presence is essential — our facility is where product knowledge is built, lead times are understood, and Davis' unique corporate culture comes to life. Understanding what is and is not possible within our production capabilities is a core competency of this role, and that understanding comes from being present on the floor and embedded with our teams. Our culture is one of our greatest competitive advantages, and this role requires full immersion in it.

Key Responsibilities

Rep Network Management & Support

  • Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of independent rep groups across an assigned territory
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for rep groups at the factory level
  • Remove obstacles that prevent reps from closing business — including navigating custom applications, lead time concerns, and field issue resolutions.

Product Training & Education

  • Deliver comprehensive, ongoing product training to external sales reps — both in-person at the factory and continuously in the field
  • Develop deep expertise across the full Davis product line to serve as the go-to resource for reps and customers
  • Lead structured training sessions in advance of product launches and on an ongoing basis

Opportunity Development & Sales Strategy

  • Partner with reps to evaluate and qualify incoming opportunities
  • Develop tailored product recommendations based on project requirements
  • Collaborate with reps on selling strategies, including pricing and timing recommendations
  • Support presentations to the A&D community and dealer network, traveling to the territory as needed
  • Maintain an ongoing territory forecast by tracking active opportunities through the pipeline, providing regular updates to sales leadership on project status, timing, and anticipated revenue

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Customer Service team on project proposals and product/project inquiries
  • Partner with the Marketing team to communicate field intelligence — identifying what tools, content, and messaging are needed to support selling efforts
  • Act as the voice of the rep and the customer internally, ensuring their needs are understood and prioritized

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–7+ years of experience in a sales, sales support, or business development role; experience in furniture, interior products, or contract/commercial markets strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong relationships with external sales partners
  • Appreciation for and understanding of design — ability to speak credibly about aesthetics, specifications, and design-driven purchasing decisions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; confident and compelling presenter
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel regularly to assigned territory for rep and client visits

Preferred

  • Experience working with or managing independent rep agencies
  • Background in or exposure to A&D sales channels
  • Familiarity with commercial furniture, textiles, or related contract furnishings
  • Experience in a manufacturing or factory-based environment

What Makes This Role Special

This is not a traditional sales role. You won't carry a quota alone — you'll be measured by the success of your reps and the strength of the relationships you build. You'll have direct access to our leadership, our production teams, and our creative process. At Davis, we believe our people and culture are what set us apart, and this role puts you at the center of that story.

Davis provides an excellent, drug free working environment and is an EOE/including disability/vets employer.
