Airtech Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician who aligns with our core values and “serve others” mindset. You will diagnose, repair, maintain, and install commercial and light commercial HVAC systems (primarily rooftop units, split systems, unit heaters, and tube heaters) across the Kansas City metro area. Key Responsibilities
•Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on commercial rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, heat pumps, VAV systems, unit heaters, and tube heaters.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment using manifold gauges, multimeters, thermal imaging, and other diagnostic tools.
•Execute RTU and split system change-outs, including proper duct transitions and modifications for future service access.
•Repair or replace components such as compressors, coils, motors, fans, valves, actuators, and refrigeration circuits.
•Recharge refrigerant systems and perform leak detection/repair per EPA guidelines.
•Service and repair tube heaters and unit heaters (replacement, repair, and maintenance).
•Handle basic electrical troubleshooting and follow wiring diagrams; work safely around gas system components.
•Install new or replacement HVAC equipment while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
•Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
•Work within established service policies and procedures.
•Respond promptly to service calls and participate in on-call rotation.
•Maintain accurate physical and digital service records, parts usage, and job documentation.
•Follow established company systems and procedures while offering ideas for improvement.

Additional Requirements
•Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
•Must be able to pass a drug test.
•Must be able to be added to company insurance without restrictions.
Required Qualifications & Skillsets
•Seasoned Commercial HVAC Experience (minimum 5+ years preferred):
oStrong RTU service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and change-out experience.
oSplit system installation and service with attention to future serviceability.
oExperience with unit heaters and tube heaters.
oComfortable working at heights and using ladders.
Residential HVAC Experience:
oAbility to efficiently replace complete systems (Furnace, Coil, and Condenser).
oExperience with flue pipe sizing, repair, and replacement.
•Excellent brazing and welding skills.
•Basic electrical background and ability to read/follow wiring diagrams.
•Basic plumbing knowledge and ability to work around gas components.
•Basic controls experience (75F, Delta Controls, Pelican – a plus).
•Valid EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (Type I, II, & III).
•Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles (including at night – normal start time 7:30 AM).
•Local to the Kansas City Metro Area.
•Own set of professional HVAC hand tools.
•Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
