The Support Captain is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day response and management of crisis prevention and management in conjunction with the principal. This position is a non-union, leadership position.

Job Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain program required qualifications and credentials (TCI, CPR, First Aid certifications, etc.).
- Must follow safety and health practices in the daily operation of duties to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Must be able to maintain the safety of all students by responding promptly and effectively to potentially dangerous situations including physical capability to initiate or assist in all components of TCI procedures of the agency, where applicable.
- Must be physically capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the site, by both primary and secondary means. This may include the passing of a child, up to 40lbs. in weight, out through a window and/or the carrying of a child down a staircase.
- Assists Principal in reviewing student referrals to provide feedback and classroom planning.
- Implements and Updates Individual Crisis Support Plans in conjunction with Principal, counselors and teaching teams.
- Sets clear expectations for students and supports them in meeting expectations.
- Has knowledge and understanding of all emergency preparedness drills, procedures, and can appropriately respond to emergencies of any kind.
- Provides coverage, as assigned, to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Encourages and participates in best practices around family engagement.
- Completes all required paperwork and reports for behaviors and crises in the school program.
- Enters into the milieu dashboard all collected data from classrooms.
- Assists with documenting transitions during the school day; ex. busing and lunch.
- Participates in professional development opportunities.
- Provides support and guidance to classroom teaching teams around classroom management,
- Achieves proficiency in fostering developmentally appropriate relationships with students and colleagues.
- Willingness to adapt to new technology and procedures when new processes are rolled out and introduced to the agency.
