As a Branch Manager, you will be responsible for directing the operations of a bank branch, ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures including branch security and regulatory compliance, serving as the primary in-branch leader for consumer lending, small business lending (generally $150,000 or less), branch marketing efforts, managing incoming deposit origination efforts, and recruiting and training employees. The Branch Manager is responsible for the financial and operational success of the branch. This role requires strong leadership with a focus on managing employee growth and development and attention to customer service excellence.

What You'll Do

Branch Operations & Performance

  • Oversee daily branch operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and adherence to policies and regulations
  • Manage branch financial performance, implementing strategies to meet goals and control costs
  • Monitor cash levels, account openings, teller activity, and safe deposit operations
  • Resolve operational issues such as transaction discrepancies and account exceptions
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement actionable improvements

Sales & Customer Experience

  • Drive a strong sales culture focused on growing deposits and expanding customer relationships
  • Monitor performance against goals and implement corrective strategies as needed
  • Deliver and promote exceptional customer service experiences
  • Handle customer inquiries, loan applications, and service requests
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently

Audits, Compliance & Security

  • Serve as Assistant Security Officer and ensure compliance with all security protocols
  • Maintain readiness for internal audits and act as liaison with audit teams
  • Ensure all branch security systems and internal controls are functioning effectively
  • Stay current on banking regulations and ensure full compliance at the branch level

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Represent Blue Sky Bank within the local community and strengthen key relationships
  • Lead in-branch marketing initiatives and promotional efforts
  • Maintain a visible presence through community involvement and local events

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor branch staff to foster a culture of accountability and collaboration
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to support growth and succession planning
  • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide continuous feedback
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and employee performance in alignment with business needs
  • Conduct regular team meetings to align on goals and operational priorities

Consumer & Small Business Lending

  • Serve as the primary in-branch lender for consumer and small business loans (typically $150,000 or less)
  • Review, process, and manage loan applications from intake through decision
  • Ensure all lending activities meet regulatory and policy requirements
  • Monitor loan quality, exceptions, and delinquency to maintain portfolio health
  • Partner with leadership on larger loan referrals and risk management
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of bank experience and 2+ years of management experience required.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, qualifying motor vehicle record report, and reliable transportation.  
  • Experience with developing branch staff and team members through guidance, training, support, and constructive feedback. 
  • Proven track record in managing, leading, delegating, and training branch staff and team members effectively, inspiring them to meet business objectives. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers and management. 
  • Strong commitment to holding oneself, branch staff, and individual team members accountable for completing tasks, achieving results, and upholding standards. 
  • Lead with integrity, transparency, and adherence to ethical standards and business practices.
