Job Purpose: 

Under the direction of Facilities Technician Supervisor, The Environmental Services Technician has primary responsibility to provide janitorial cleaning and preventative maintenance of building and grounds keeping. Utilizes a variety of cleaning supplies.  


Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Performs janitorial, housekeeping, and environmental services for all clinic facilities, as assigned  
  • Adheres to the spirit of Waterfall Community Health Center to remove barriers to care and our mission statement while performing assigned duties. 
  • Demonstrate the core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Compassion, Partnership, and Collaborative Communication. 
  • Provides environmental services 
  • May be asked to assist with facilities maintenance to perform project repairs. 
  • Operates specialized equipment and basic power tools, etc.  
  • Manage incoming packages and shipping, may include heavy packages. 
  • Assist with security and other interventions, such as facility evacuations, CPI, etc., 
  • Adhere to preventative maintenance and safety inspections to meet compliance regulations and codes including OSHA. 
  • Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of organization goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork. 
  • Performs any other duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values. 


Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability, willingness, and sensitivity to working with a diverse population including special needs adults or children. 
  • Sound judgment, excellent assessment, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of computerized facilities maintenance management systems word processing, and records management, highly desirable. 
  • Ability to follow OR-OSHA and safety practices and ensure OSHA regulations are met and maintained. 
  • Federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations related to areas of assignment. 
  • Establish and maintain solid working relationships through communication, cooperation, and positive interactions with all patients, employees, staff, providers, and vendors. 
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule  when circumstances are necessary. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with WCHC policies and HIPAA regulations. 
  • Valid Driver’s License. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent or combination of education, experience and/or training. preferred. 
  • Experience in a healthcare environment or setting preferred. 
  • 1 year experience in janitorial/cleaning, preventative maintenance, general repairs. 

LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT: 

  • OSHA training(s) obtained with 6 months of hire and recertify prior to expiration date. 
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire, and recertify prior to expiration date. Employer provides this training. 
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Card (BLS) within 6 months of hire, and recertify prior to expiration date. Employer provides this training. 

Immunizations Required: 

  • TB (test upon hire)  

Physical Requirements: 

  • Regularly?required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend. 
  • Able to lift up to 70 pounds at times. 
  • Able to travel as needed.
