Description

In this role, you’ll support multiple facilities across York County, helping ensure they remain safe, functional, and ready to serve the community.


Maintain & Repair Critical Building Systems

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and light HVAC systems
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and implement effective, timely solutions
  • Complete work orders and respond to maintenance requests with reliability and professionalism

Drive Preventative Maintenance Excellence

  • Conduct inspections and proactively identify issues before they escalate
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules (filters, lighting, system checks)
  • Track and document work to support operational efficiency and compliance

Support Learning Environments

  • Prepare classrooms and program spaces to ensure readiness for staff and students
  • Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and seasonal transitions
  • Contribute to safe, clean, and engaging spaces where learning can thrive

Promote Safety & Compliance

  • Identify and address safety concerns in real time
  • Follow established safety protocols and support regulatory compliance
  • Maintain a professional presence in active educational and community environments
Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of facilities or maintenance experience
  • Hands-on experience with: 
  • Electrical systems (fixtures, outlets, ballasts)
  • Plumbing systems (leaks, clogs, fixtures)
  • Carpentry and general repairs
  • Light HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and ladders
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites
  • Ability to meet physical job demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varied environments
  • Ability to obtain required background clearances and certifications
  • Experience in schools, childcare, or nonprofit facilities preferred
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish and/or Haitian Creole) desirable, but not required
