Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in supporting contractor customers, driving branch sales growth, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position is responsible for managing quotes and orders, supporting project needs, and partnering closely with outside sales, purchasing, and operations teams to keep customers moving.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on relationship building, and wants to grow within a rapidly expanding organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding pricing, product availability, order status, and project support.
  • Process quotes and sales orders accurately and efficiently through NEFCO’s ERP system.
  • Build strong customer relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through upselling, cross-selling, and proactive customer engagement.
  • Support branch and company sales initiatives while helping achieve revenue and gross profit goals.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to source non-stock materials and meet customer timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, outside sales representatives, and branch leadership to ensure smooth order execution.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge across NEFCO’s construction supply offerings and vendor programs.
  • Participate in ongoing training, vendor education, and weekly team meetings focused on sales performance and customer success.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement and winning together.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of inside sales, customer service, or distribution industry experience preferred
  • Construction supply, industrial distribution, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fastener, or related industry experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; Eclipse experience preferred
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
