Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Guardian Service Industries Inc. is looking for a qualified employee to fill a position at one of our locations in West New York, NJ.

The ideal candidate will be reporting directly to the Building Manager and Superintendent. The primarily responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure the common areas/resident requests are maintained and handled on a daily basis in accordance with the highest possible standards.

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Pay rate: $22/hr

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as a conduit for normal maintenance requests and ensures timely communication to the appropriate manager/supervisor. Immediately contacts emergency maintenance personnel if an emergency maintenance situation develops.
• Performs other duties as necessary at the direction of building management
• General plumbing repairs such as toilet repairs; faucets, minor leaks etc.
• Minor electrical repairs such as outlets; light switches; light bulbs etc.
• Replace general hardware such as doors, doorknobs, locks; repair broken tiles etc.
• Minor cosmetic updates such as paint, plaster, sanding, wallpaper installation etc.
• Maintenance and upkeep of building equipment.
• On Call 24/7 for emergencies.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

• Report to work on time, in uniform,
• Remain on site, in full uniform, until appropriately relieved.
• Provide a pleasant, discreet and professional “first impression” to all residents, guests and customers.
• Direct all resident concerns to Management personnel.
• Accept messages for Management and Maintenance personnel. Relay all messages timely.
• Represent the client in a professional manner at all times. Consistently maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with residents, building employees, vendors and the general public.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

The Assistant Superintendent must, at all times while on duty, wear the full Building Maintenance Staff uniform.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

Black Seal, not required, but a plus
