GENERAL FUNCTION: Provide appropriate primary care to PTHA Medical Clinic patients. This position primarily works in the Same Day Clinic.
What You'll Do:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat medical and surgical diseases and emergencies for men, women, and children under the direct supervision of a physician.
- Provide direct, unsupervised treatment of minor/routine medical conditions.
- Perform histories, physicals, evaluations, and diagnosis of patients.
- Perform phone, telehealth, in-person, and emergency triage activities.
- Observe, record, and report patient condition and reaction to medications and treatments.
- Initiate diagnostic tests, prescribe and administer medications and treatments, and performs special tests such as ECG and audiograms.
- Provide direct counseling to patients and families on medical conditions, treatments and proper care.
- Handle in-person, written, and phone requests for information and advice.
- Prepare, interpret and maintain medical records.
- Participate in professional development and community awareness activities.
- Provide after hours and/or weekend care as scheduled.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and ARNP in the state of Washington. -OR- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant training program. Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Washington and have appropriate certification.
- Experience working in prompt care, same day or urgent care facility required.
- Experience and/or ability to work with an Electronic Health Records System.
- Certification in ACLS/PALS required.
