The Rehab Therapy Specialist is responsible for maintenance of the Rehab work environment, including pools and gym equipment, to ensure quality care for patients and clients. S/he audits patient charts, maintains supplies and records, and assists with patient care.
Essential Functions:
· Maintains rehabilitation pools, ensuring licensure and compliance with regulations.
· Audits patient charts and communicates with the appropriate party to correct any errors for compliance and reimbursement.
· Orders supplies, maintains usage records, and inventory.
· Maintains general equipment, including mechanical gym equipment. Initiates work orders and coordinates follow up maintenance activities.
· Maintains equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures records and MSDS manual.
· Assists the Rehab Director with various projects.
· Assists with the orientation and training of new Rehab Techs.
· Assists with patient care when needed.
· Assist with various office tasks which may include: registering and scheduling patients, scanning required documents, issuing required documents to patients for signature, verifying insurance and obtaining authorization, monitor and enter charges, and faxing documents to physician for signature.
· Other duties as assigned
Education & Training Requirements:
· Minimum High School Diploma/ GED
· American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of hire
· Aquatic Tech certification preferred
· Must pass the departmental Aquatic Competency Test within 90 days of hire if aquatic therapy will be part of work/treatment requirements
