The Role:
This individual will be our third legal hire and report directly to our Senior Vice President of Legal. This position is ideal for someone who possesses some practical experience in commercial and corporate legal matters, with a focus on technology and data governance, and is looking to grow that experience and take on greater responsibility.
What You Will Do:
- Draft, review, and negotiate sales contracts, vendor contracts, partnership contracts, and other agreements.
- Provide advice to internal stakeholders regarding changes in laws or regulations that may impact our business.
- Provide ongoing legal support to our sales teams, information security team, product team, compliance and privacy team, human resources team, marketing team, and customer credentialing team, among other internal stakeholders.
- Help to create and revise internal policy documents, training materials, contracting templates, and contracting playbooks.
- Keep the Senior Vice President of Legal apprised of developments with the role’s assigned area of responsibility.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What Your Bring:
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- 2 to 4 years of prior experience as an attorney, with experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating B2B contracts or government contracts preferred.
- Ability to assess risks based upon contract provisions and business actions, and explain those risks to both lawyers and non-lawyers.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and accomplish assignments and in a timely and professional manner.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Applicants must have permanent work authorization in the U.S.; we are not sponsoring visas for this role.
- An ideal candidate will also possess:
- Experience supporting a SaaS, PaaS, or other data-driven or technology-driven company.
- Knowledge of and experience interpreting U.S.-based privacy laws, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act,
- The Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, or other similar legislation.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following types of sales verticals:
- Financial Services.
- Government and Law Enforcement.
- Investigative.
- Collections and Recovery.
- Background Screening Support.
- Real Estate.
- Retail and Ecommerce.

- Legal.
