The Key Account Manager – Industry is responsible for driving sales growth, specification development, and strategic market penetration within the Life Science, High Tech, and Manufacturing segments throughout the Eastern United States. Working in partnership with Territory Sales Managers, Agents, Regional Managers, Marketing, and Technical teams, this role serves as the segment Subject Matter Expert and leads efforts to position Gerflor as a preferred flooring and wall solutions partner within controlled environments and industrial applications. This role is designed to complement and support the existing commercial sales organization through vertical market expertise, strategic project development, and coordinated customer engagement.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Contribute to defining sales strategy and market approach for the Industry segment in Eastern region.
- Develop and maintain a high level of engagement with targeted end users, design firms, contractors, and strategic stakeholders through coordinated field activity and relationship development. to achieve Industry sales target for area.
- Promote and achieve specification of Gerflor products by calling on End Users and specifiers such as Architects, Engineering firms, Interior Designers, Flooring Contractors, and Builders, i.e., any person or company that may be a decision maker or influencer in the specification of a floor finish in the Segment.
- Support Agents and the Gerflor Commercial sales team, ensuring a proper understanding of targeting key strategic stakeholders and the product portfolio’s benefits and applicability within the segment through training, strategic project support and coordinated business development activity.
- Understand competition within segments to support strategic pricing decisions within categories and within projects.
- Organize and present CEUs and “lunch and learn” sessions with specifiers in coordination with the local sales team.
- Maintain accurate project, stakeholder, and opportunity data within Gerflor’s CRM platform.
- In alignment with the local sales team, lead the effort on Industry-related trade shows and events where Gerflor participates, managing appropriate lead follow-up and ROI calculation.
- Provide market intelligence concerning competition, distribution, product trends, standards, etc.
- Contribute ideas to the product portfolio development and marketing support to enhance efforts within the segment.
- Travel up to 50%.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Five years of experience selling into controlled environments, Life Science, High Tech, Manufacturing, or related commercial segments involving complex sales cycles and multiple decision-makers.
- Knowledge of Clean Room environment required.
- Project Management experience
- Computer skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, BI, AI experience.
- Budgeting experience.
- Effective communication and persuasion skills
- Organization skills
Base Salary Range: $1300,000/annual to $140,000/annual
The base salary for this position may vary based on factors such as location, training, skills, and relevant experience. This position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, incentive, or commissions. Bonus or incentive programs are subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
