At Nuwellis, we’re passionate about improving outcomes for patients suffering from fluid overload through our Aquadex SmartFlow ultrafiltration therapy. We’re looking for a Clinical Education Specialist (CES) to join our growing team and partner with healthcare providers across the MidSouth region.
This territory includes Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Mississippi, with an ideal home base in the St. Louis, Kansas City, or Tennessee area. Candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout the region and building strong clinical relationships within hospital systems.

What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Education Specialist, you’ll serve as a clinical expert and trusted partner to healthcare providers, helping drive therapy adoption, customer success, and positive patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver clinical education and hands-on training to healthcare professionals on Aquadex therapy and related products
- Support therapy implementation, utilization growth, and customer engagement within assigned accounts
- Partner closely with Account Managers to support territory growth and expand prescriber adoption
- Conduct therapy reviews and provide clinical guidance aligned with product labeling and best practices
- Troubleshoot clinical and product-related questions in real time
- Support healthcare providers in identifying appropriate patients for therapy
- Lead engaging product demonstrations and in-service education programs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians and hospital stakeholders
- Coordinate customer meetings, training activities, and clinical support needs throughout the territory
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a direct patient care setting
• Strong clinical background in acute care environments
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
• Ability to meet hospital vendor credentialing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• BSN or advanced nursing/healthcare degree
• Experience in ICU, CVICU, Heart Failure, Dialysis, Emergency Department, or other critical care environments
• Prior medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience
• Experience delivering clinical education or medical device training in hospital settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, field-based environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Travel & Work Environment
• Field-based role requiring regular onsite presence at customer locations
• Territory travel includes frequent driving and approximately 50–75% overnight travel
• Occasional evening, weekend, or after-hours support may be needed based on customer and clinical needs
Compensation & Benefits
We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
• $90,000-$110,000 base salary +commission
• Quarterly commission payouts
• Car allowance
• Health insurance (multiple plan options), including an HDHP with an annual company contribution of $2,000 (individual) / $4,000 (family)
