Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and skilled Kitchen Equipment Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair both hot-side and cold-side commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants, hotels, and food service operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and hands-on experience working with hot equipment such as ovens, fryers, grills, steamers, and dishwashers, as well as cold equipment including refrigerators, freezers, walk-ins, prep coolers, and ice machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain both hot-side and cold-side commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, grills, ranges, mixers, steamers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, prep tables, ice machines, and any other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Perform preventative commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and safety inspections.
- Install new kitchen equipment and ensure proper ongoing operation.
- Troubleshoot building electrical, gas, plumbing, and mechanical issues; perform light repairs where possible, and schedule service calls as necessary.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory usage.
- Maintain vendor relationships, manage warranty service, agreements, and appointments as necessary.
- Communicate professionally with internal customers regarding repair timelines and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed, including nights/weekends/holidays.
- Maintain and inventory company tools and equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience repairing commercial kitchen hot-side equipment and refrigeration/cold-side equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments (heat, cold, confined spaces, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- EPA Certification for refrigeration handling.
- Experience with gas equipment repair.
- CFESA certification or equivalent industry certifications.
- HVAC or appliance repair background.
- Experience using digital work order or field service systems.

Work Schedule
- Full-time
