Description

Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USAToday Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Vice President, Growth, to lead and expand our federal business development, capture, and proposal operations. This executive role drives strategic growth across federal markets by identifying, shaping, capturing, and winning new business opportunities.


We're looking for a strategic, hands-on leader with a proven track record of leading pursuits from early opportunity identification through contract award. This leader will collaborate closely with executive leadership, delivery teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to build a strong pipeline and deliver winning proposals.


This position is a Hybrid position: Partially remote and on-site: Crystal City, VA


Key Responsibilities


Growth Strategy & Pipeline Development

  • Lead SFI’s federal growth strategy across targeted agencies and contract vehicles 
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new federal opportunities aligned with corporate capabilities 
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline (full & open, recompetes, task orders, IDIQ/GWAC opportunities) 
  • Monitor market trends, agency priorities, budgets, and competitive landscape 

Capture Leadership

  • Lead capture efforts, including: 
    • Customer engagement and call planning 
    • Competitive and Black Hat analysis 
    • Teaming strategy and partner selection 
    • Solution development and win strategy 
    • Price-to-win coordination 
  • Drive bid/no-bid decisions and opportunity gate reviews 
  • Develop capture plans, win themes, and discriminators 

Proposal Execution

  • Lead and actively contribute to proposal development: 
    • Management, technical, staffing, and transition approaches 
    • Corporate experience and past performance 
    • Win themes and messaging 
  • Facilitate proposal lifecycle activities: 
    • Storyboarding and solutioning sessions 
    • Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews 
    • Final submission readiness 
  • Ensure proposals are compliant, compelling, and customer-focused 

Oral Presentations

  • Lead oral presentation strategy and preparation: 
    • Slide development and messaging 
    • Speaker coaching and rehearsals 
    • Q&A preparation 
  • Ensure delivery readiness and alignment with evaluation criteria 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build relationships with federal customers, partners, and industry stakeholders 
  • Collaborate with internal teams (delivery, pricing, contracts, recruiting, and SMEs) 
  • Brief executive leadership on pipeline health, capture progress, and growth performance 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in federal business development, capture management, proposal development, growth leadership, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading federal growth pursuits from opportunity identification through capture, proposal, oral presentation, and award.
  • Strong understanding of the federal procurement lifecycle, including market research, capture planning, RFP analysis, proposal development, evaluation criteria, oral presentations, and award process.
  • Experience developing and executing capture strategies for competitive federal opportunities.
  • Experience supporting or leading full and open federal procurements.
  • Hands-on proposal experience, including writing, reviewing, editing, and improving proposal sections for federal opportunities.
  • Excellent proposal development skills, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to management approach, transition approach, staffing approach, win themes, technical approach, corporate experience, and past performance sections.
  • Experience leading proposal reviews, proposal strategy sessions, solutioning discussions, and color team activities.
  • Experience preparing teams for oral presentations, including slide development, messaging, speaker preparation, rehearsal management, and Q&A readiness.
  • Ability to develop customer-focused win strategies, competitive positioning, capture plans, teaming approaches, and pursuit strategies.
  • Strong understanding of federal IT, software modernization, data, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or professional services opportunities.
  • Experience working with executive leadership, program managers, technical teams, pricing, contracts, recruiting, capture teams, and proposal teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer-facing, partner-facing, and executive briefing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, stakeholders, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess opportunities, competitors, risks, probability of win, and strategic fit.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, accountable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Skills

  • Department of Defense experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting or pursuing federal civilian agency opportunities is a plus.
  • Experience in capturing and winning full and open competitions against large and mid-tier federal contractors.
  • Experience with IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, and task order competitions.
  • Experience with contract vehicles such as GSA MAS, OASIS+, CIO-SP4, SEWP, Alliant, STARS, or agency-specific vehicles.
  • Experience developing agency account plans, call plans, capture plans, Black Hat reviews, and price-to-win strategies.
  • Experience leading or participating in color team reviews, including Pink Team, Red Team, Gold Team, and White Glove reviews.
  • Experience developing oral presentation decks, executive briefings, solution presentations, and customer-facing pursuit materials.
  • Familiarity with Shipley or similar capture and proposal methodologies.
  • Existing relationships within federal agencies, industry partners, or small business teaming networks.
  • Experience using GovWin, SAM.gov, FPDS, USASpending, eBuy, Symphony, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar pipeline and market intelligence tools.
  • MBA, APMP, PMP, or capture/proposal certification is a plus.
