In this role you will keep us compliant with the quality standards required by our customers by ensuring product quality and adhering to the quality program. You will run instrument tests, prepare samples, and record data. Key duties include operating equipment, maintaining safety compliance, and troubleshooting analysis.
Your meticulous nature is key in maintaining our documentation. Not only will you report any non-compliance, you will be part of the team to determine the root cause and assist where needed to correct. Working in a clean-room environment you will be responsible for sanitation checks of equipment and air quality.
Responsibilities:
- Sample preparation: weighing, pipetting, diluting, and creating chemical solutions
- Testing and analysis: Performing wet chemistry or instrumental analysis like HPLC, DSC, IR
- Equipment upkeep: Calibrating, cleaning, and troubleshooting lab instruments.
- Data recording: Documenting results accurately in logs or electronic notebooks
- Safety and compliance: Following GLP, cGMP, and safety protocols.
- Quality checks: Performs checks on incoming goods and raw materials, work in progress, and finished products as well as during production
- Plant sanitation checks: Monitors this by equipment swabs, environmental/air sampling, etc.
- Finished products: Inspect finished products to ensure consistency and quality
- Reporting: Process errors, failures, and deviations are reported to supervisors
- Work with production team and ensure production processes and parameters meet required specifications
- Maintain proper documentation as required
- Other duties as requested

Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in chemistry, biology, or equivalent experience
- Understands GMP (general manufacturing practices) as relates to FDA practices
- 2+ years of hands-on laboratory or quality control experience
- Experience working a manufacturing environment for cosmetics or food a plus
- Can regularly lift, push, or move up to 30 pounds
- Can regularly climb a ladder/steps
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Self-starter who can work independently
- High attention to detail
- Ability to perform basic math and problem solving
- Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
