Description

Position Summary

The Audiologist is responsible for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of people with hearing loss.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Establish rapport with a primarily adult and geriatric patient population through effective counseling and recommendation for treatment to improve their communication abilities and quality of life.
  • Dispense appropriate hearing aids, accessories, and assistive listening devices to meet patient’s needs and provide realistic expectations to ensure patient success.
  • Communicate with audiology team to maintain patient flow within the clinic.
  • Provide services related to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing loss. To include but not limited to:
  • Comprehensive Hearing Evaluations
  • Immittance Testing: Tympanometry, Acoustic Reflexes, Decay, Otoacoustic Emissions
  • Hearing Aid Consultations
  • Hearing Aid Maintenance: Cleaning, Repair, Reprogramming
  • Hearing aid Verification and Validation through Real Ear Measurements
  • Recommends Assistive Listening Technology & Custom Hearing Protection when warranted
  • Support & Contribute to Department Marketing Initiatives
  • Bill and Code services rendered
  • Work closely with the Director of Audiology to determine improvements in protocol & patient care


Position/Type/ Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and core hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Travel

Travel to designated locations as determined based on business needs.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2 – 3 years of experience practicing
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification in Audiology or ability to maintain Board Certification upon hiring through the American Board of Audiology
  • Current Audiology License in state of Florida, OR ability to obtain FL licensure before start date
  • Experience with Counsel Ear and third party programs preferred
  • Experience with and knowledge of multiple manufacturer hearing aids and fitting software.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer colleague, and vendor population.
  • Interdisciplinary treatment planning when warranted, with patient primary care and referring physicians.
