Description
The Leave and Compliance Coordinator will ensure that all employee Leaves of Absence are documented and tracked for compliance purposes, including FMLA and disability leaves. The Associate will ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act guidelines.

This role requires a basic understanding of the Family Medical Leave Act, Affordable Care Act, and other benefit-related federal or state-specific employment laws, as well as proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, and exceptional attention to detail.
This is an in-office position.

Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
- Administer and manage Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and any state-mandated medical leave requests.
- Coordinate Short- and Long-Term Disability claims, including assisting employees in navigating their role in the paperwork filing process and answering any of their disability related questions.
- Collaborate with the HR Department on medical accommodation, including unpaid leave or disability requests, including but not limited to:
- Medical certifications
- Fitness for Duty forms
- Designation notices
- Documented communication with each employee
- Disability forms
- Etc.
- Ensure timely and accurate applicable documentation for the federal and/or state-specific leave request.
- Maintain and update leave tracking systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Ensure timely and clear communication with the facility or agency administrator regarding the eligibility, leave duration, and other specifics pertaining to the employee’s medical leave request.
- Communicate return to work deadlines and any applicable documentation needed prior to the employee’s return.
- Coordinate premium waivers during approved STD claims and obtain applicable premium credits from the insurance carriers.
- Responsible for maintaining ACA compliance by performing ongoing audits on hours worked for employees to ensure employment type is classified appropriately.
- Identify any Part-time or PRN status employees who are trending full-time hours and communicate with administrator options to maintain ACA compliance.
- The Coordinator will ensure compliance with benefits plans and programs, including the Affordable Care Act.
- Collect, review, verify, and maintain employee dependent eligibility documentation for employees enrolled in company benefit plans.
- Ensure compliance with benefit plan requirements and maintain accurate records of supporting documentation.
- Assist with other functions within the Benefits department as needed.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality for employees’ benefits.

- Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of Larry H. Miller Senior Health.
