The Braider Operator is responsible for operating braiding machines to fabricate composite-reinforced tubes and components according to specifications. This position requires attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot machinery, and adherence to quality and safety standards within a production environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate braiding machines following detailed work instructions, routers, and job-specific specifications.
- Load yarns, threads, or filaments into bobbins and carriers, ensuring correct material selection and tension settings.
- Monitor machine operation for quality, proper alignment, and continuous feed; make adjustments as necessary.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of braided products using measuring tools.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Record production data and complete quality control documentation as required.
- Communicate issues or abnormalities to supervisors or maintenance teams.
- Follow all safety policies including PPE use, housekeeping standards, and chemical handling procedures.
- Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.
- Keep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.

Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
Knowledge & Experience
- 1+ years of experience operating braiding or textile machinery preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Understanding of composite materials and fiber reinforcements is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Hours / Shifts: This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Thursday, 5:00am - 3:00pm EST.
