About Guideline

Guideline is a global provider of ad intelligence and media plan management technology, powering the strategy, planning, and management of advertising buying and selling for the world’s leading enterprises. Our solutions deliver the industry’s most comprehensive and timely insights, enabling publishers, agencies, brands, investors, and consulting firms to optimize media performance and drive superior business outcomes.

Guideline’s proprietary spend and pricing data represents approximately $200 billion in annual media investment across 65 countries, providing the most complete and transparent view of the global advertising marketplace available today. In 2026 we are accelerating our investment in analytics and AI-powered solutions for the advertising and capital markets industries.

About the Role

Institutional investors are paying a premium for alternative data — signals that tell them something the market doesn't know yet. Media spend is one of the most reliable leading indicators of business performance available. When a company changes its advertising patterns, something is usually happening. Guideline sits on the verified, transaction-level record of that spending, sourced directly from the agencies and publishers doing it — not estimated, not scraped, not blended.

This role turns that data into a product business. The ALD suite serves institutional investors across the spectrum — quant researchers evaluating new signals, fundamental analysts running production ticker models, and PMs who want a clean, defensible forecast. You own the suite end-to-end as a senior IC: strategy, roadmap, client relationships, and the competitive positioning that determines whether Guideline takes share from a well-funded incumbent or cedes it. The mandate is specific: modernize a product suite that is already Guideline's fastest-growing vertical, and double it. The role reports directly to the CPO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy and roadmap for the ALD suite — make the hard calls about what gets built, what gets deferred, and why.
  • Own the relationships with ALD's most important clients — hedge fund analysts, quant researchers, mutual fund PMs. Their workflows drive the roadmap; you're in the room to hear them.
  • Take new opportunities from concept to client-validated conviction — Engineering engages after the evidence is in, not before.
  • Hold the quality commitments that differentiate Guideline in the market — coverage consistency and forecast accuracy are product promises, and you're accountable for keeping them.
  • Define how ALD data reaches clients — through data cloud marketplaces, direct API, flat file, or integration — and own the experience and reliability of each channel.
  • Be the most informed voice in the building on the competitive landscape; know where Guideline wins, where it doesn't, and what product decisions change the calculus.
  • Work directly with the CPO on domain strategy; bring the ground-level client and market insight that makes those conversations worth having.
  • Build and deploy AI agents and skills as a routine part of the job.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12–16 years in product management with real depth in ad intelligence, alternative data, or data-heavy B2B products.
  • Has owned a licensed data product that external clients build against — understands what it costs a buyer when delivery slips or data quality shifts.
  • Has held a portfolio strategy across multiple buyer types — different needs, different evaluation criteria, different definitions of success — and made it coherent.
  • Analytically sharp — can engage with data scientists and engineers on quality methodology, not just manage from a distance.
  • Connects domain decisions to P&L outcomes without being prompted — speaks the language of the business, not just the product, and represents the domain credibly in executive and commercial conversations.
  • Builds and deploys AI agents and skills as part of everyday work; a baseline at this level, not a differentiator.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Direct experience in the alternative data industry — familiarity with how institutional investors evaluate, buy, and put data signals to work in production.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake and Databricks marketplace distribution — how data products are listed, evaluated, and purchased through data cloud platforms.
  • Competitive knowledge of the alternative data landscape — understands how institutional buyers evaluate, layer, and rationalize competing data signals.
  • Experience with data products that carry published quality guarantees or SLAs — where a missed delivery has direct commercial consequences.
  • Exposure to financial modeling workflows — how hedge fund analysts and quant teams use data signals in ticker models.
