About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Project Lead. This role is responsible for leading daily project operations, including hands-on coding review, coordination with billing, coding, and compliance teams, and interaction with providers as needed.
The individual oversees the audit team, ensures alignment with organizational workflows, and has authority to make routine audit and operational decisions independently enabling efficient, real-time progress without delays. You will be supported by senior leadership for quality assurance, governance, and escalation of complex issues, the Compliance Project Lead ensures seamless execution, strong stakeholder alignment, and accountability for delivering high-quality, timely audit outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the day-to-day client lead.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders.
- Keep daily audit workflows, schedules, and deliverables moving.
- Help manage data access, provider follow-ups, and issue escalation.
- Ensure VMG audit standards and methodology are applied consistently.
- Support meetings, education sessions, and regular check-ins.
- Coordinate closely with VMG’s remote audit and CRA analytics teams
- Lead project kickoff and initial on-site onboarding.
- Provide ongoing QA and overall governance.
- Step in for complex issues or client concerns as needed.
- Be on site periodically at key milestones
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise auditors and coders.
- Delegate work effectively.

Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between VMG and the client.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships
- Proactively support ongoing client needs and identify opportunities for expanded services
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Revenue Cycle Management or Revenue Integrity.
- EPIC system expertise.
- Prior client-facing consulting experience.

Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in the healthcare industry.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- CPC and CPMA certifications required.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.
- Expert knowledge of:
- CPT/HCPCS coding
- E/M guidelines and documentation standards
- HCC and Specialty Coding
- CMS and payer regulatory requirements
- External payer audit targets and response strategies
- Demonstrate experience in project management and team leadership.
- Background in healthcare compliance, auditing and coding review.
- Experience developing and delivering provider education and training.
- Familiarity with audit tools, data analytics, or AI-supported review platforms.
