MIG/TIG WELDER

Job Description

This position at Sytech will be responsible for MIG/TIG Welding that is vital to our production of our products for our customers. We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is willing to be a valued member of our team. This individual always has to be flexible and willing to keep the internal and external customers in mind; while maintaining Quality of Workmanship, Safety, Accountability, and Teamwork, which is vital to our mission.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Review Job Work Orders, Drawings, Notes and Change Orders in order to continually ensure that work being performed complies with specifications.

· Ensure that all work is properly performed, inspected and documented in accordance with Company policy and procedure as well as customer expectations.

· Maintain the pace of production in their area of responsibility. Be aware at all times of job deadlines.

· Ensure that the Lead or Supervisor is fully informed of the progress of the work under their supervision, including immediately notifying the Lead or Supervisor of challenges that could result in work delays and product conformities.

· Maintain an eye for safety and non-compliance issues.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area. This is to include ensuring that parts and materials are properly controlled, shop supplies and tools are put away when not in use and any other items related to overall shop cleanliness.

· Perform any other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands

· Must be able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift. Typical work shift is from 8 to 10 hours and Saturdays.

· Perform repetitious task and be able to focus on jobs for extended periods of time 

· Regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects to perform job activities.

· The employee is frequently required to reach above shoulders, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.

· Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

· Able to perform foot pedal operation throughout entire shift

· Adaptable to a changing work environment.

· Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and exposure to noise

· Frequently lift to/from floor-up to 50 lbs.

· Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, use of high and low impact vibratory tools, flexion/extension,

·  contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears.

· Exposed to high heat and light when welding – P.P.E. 


Environmental Exposure

· Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as forklifts and carts.

· Manufacturing metal fabrication environment.

· Exposure to hot temperature when working new ovens or in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

· Experienced MIG/TIG welder in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Able to create aesthetically pleasing weld

· Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals, basic Math Skills and ability to read and write English

· Understands sheet metal fabrication

· Familiar with quality management system requirements

· Accurate measuring abilities using tape measure, calipers, or other standard measuring devices.

· Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.

· Must be able to identify and measure material.

· Team player with follow through.

· Organized with excellent communication skills.

· Effective decision maker with a can-do attitude.

· Able to work overtime if required

Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour (non-exempt)
