PURPOSE

The Lead Associate oversees the sales floor on shift and ensures the store functions consistent with all policies and procedures. Provide product information, customer service, and cashiering assistance to Crescent Market at Snoqualmie customers. Perform a variety of duties inherent to retail sales and merchandising. Leadership, customer service and accurate sales register duties are the main focus of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Assistant Manager or Supervisor to ensure inventory control of product stock level.
  • Responsible for receiving and accurately scanning product deliveries via handheld device or soft check.
  • Oversee associates in keeping all available products stocked on shelves.
  • Monitor and train all associate staff in line with store policies and procedures.
  • Oversee shift changes of store associates and establish consistent break schedule for shifts.
  • Provide verification of associate cash safe drops, perform refunds, and handle customer complaints.
  • Ensure all on boarding assigned training are completed.
  • Assist store customers with purchases of tobacco products, pre-packed liquor products, and other store items.
  • Operate cash register and comply with laws and policies regarding AGE RESTRICTED SALES.
  • Oversee completion of daily, weekly, and monthly checklist items.
  • Oversee that facilities and grounds are kept cleaned and properly maintained. Includes main sales floor clean ups and sanitary restrooms.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
  • Provide excellent service to customers and maintain high standards of store image.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD). 
  • One (1) year leadership experience in gas station/convenience store retails sales, customer service, food service.
  • Inventory and Point of Sales (POS) experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of money handling and accountability for store monies.
  • Experience/knowledge of basic money counting and bookkeeping.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Organization, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written information and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
