What does our IRS Enrolled Agent do?
Our Enrolled Agent plays a critical role in supporting clients with complex tax matters, IRS representation, and tax resolution services while working collaboratively with attorneys, tax professionals, and support staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service regarding audits, collections, appeals, and other tax matters
- Analyze tax transcripts, notices, and financial information to determine appropriate resolution strategies
- Assist clients with installment agreements, Offers in Compromise, penalty abatements, and other tax relief programs
- Conduct tax research and stay current on federal tax laws, regulations, and IRS procedures
- Communicate directly with clients, the IRS, and other taxing authorities regarding case status and resolution options
- Prepare financial statements, collection information statements, and supporting documentation for tax resolution matters
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, billing, and deadlines
- Collaborate with attorneys and advisors on complex tax and estate planning matters
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, IRS regulations, and professional standards
- Provide exceptional client service and guidance throughout the tax resolution process
What you bring to the team!
Education and Experience
- Active IRS Enrolled Agent credential required
- Experience representing clients before the IRS
- Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client service skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and cases simultaneously
- Prior law firm, CPA firm, or tax resolution experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed skills in editing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition
- Ability to anticipate problems, find solutions, and prioritize work accordingly
- Ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload with critical deadlines
- Ability to exercise a high degree of personal integrity, confidentiality, tact, discretion, and judgment
