Position Overview

Are you a skilled Medical Assistant looking to elevate your career in a specialist practice? ArchPoint Pain, a growing Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Management clinic, is seeking an exceptional, dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA/NCMA) to join our team.

  

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Operations & Patient Flow (Clinic Time)

  • Patient Intake: Efficiently room patients, capture accurate vital signs, and document detailed History of Present Illness (HPI)/intake details.
  • Patient Flow Management: Actively manage the daily clinic schedule. Monitor patient wait times and optimize flow by prompting providers if room time      exceeds 20 minutes.
  • Quality & Compliance: Proactively verify eligibility, assist with verifications, and ensure all Quality Measures (QM) are seamlessly met for each patient visit.
  • Lab Coordination: Oversee patient urine collection (UA samples), ensure prompt delivery to the lab, and maintain strict cleanliness standards in patient restrooms. (Includes direct collection when external diagnostic coverage is unavailable).
  • Procedure Support: Cross-train and step in to perform as a Procedure Technician as clinically required to assist providers with specialized treatments (ESI, RFA, SCS Trials).
  • Environmental Safety: Maintain a pristine, sanitized clinical environment by prepping patient exam rooms and ensuring appropriate Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is staged ahead of schedule.

Administrative & Continuity of Care (Non-Clinic Time)

  • Prior Authorizations: Seamlessly coordinate and complete medication Prior Authorization (PA) requests required by insurance carriers for prescriptions written by our providers.
  • Care Communication: Actively monitor, route, and resolve patient cases within dedicated Athenahealth messaging buckets (Provider and Personal buckets).
  • Medical Records Management: Proactively call scheduled new patients for the Tomball location (and provide backup for the Cypress/Huffmeister location) to secure essential medical records, including MRIs and Discharge Summaries.
  • Clinical Backup Support: Answer incoming phone calls with excellent etiquette, collect payments when needed, input UA dipstick results into charts, and conduct post-procedure follow-up calls to check on patient medical status.


Requirements

REQUIRED: 

Experience: Proven clinical experience in Pain Management / Pain Medicine or a closely related outpatient specialty.

EMR Proficiency: Hands-on, practical experience navigating.   Athenahealth (preferred)

Positive Attitude:  Willingness to work as a team to provide stellar care to patients with significant pain levels.

Commitment:  Ability to commit to a long-term, full-time position.

Core Competencies: Strong multitasking abilities, excellent phone etiquette, clean communication skills, and a team-first mindset.


Preferred:

Certification:      Active Medical Assistant credential (CMA, RMA, or NCMA).

Reliability:  Able to commute primarily to our main Huffmeister location, with the flexibility to support our satellite clinic as operational needs required.

Salary Description
$16 - $18 / hour
