Description
What You’ll Do
As a Therapeutic Dietary Cook, you will play a key role in maintaining the health and well-being of the individuals we serve by preparing meals that meet physician-ordered and therapeutic dietary requirements.
Daily Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes
- Follow therapeutic and modified diet plans including diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified, and pureed diets
- Ensure meals are visually appealing, nutritious, and properly portioned
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain required documentation
- Label, date, and store food items safely to prevent spoilage and waste
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with inventory management, stocking, and receiving food deliveries
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, therapy staff, supervisors, and dietitians
- Prepare refreshments and food items for special events and activities
- Help ensure an organized, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, residential services, or food service environments
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety procedures
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe Certification preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or related work experience/training

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
