What You’ll Do
As a Therapeutic Dietary Cook, you will play a key role in maintaining the health and well-being of the individuals we serve by preparing meals that meet physician-ordered and therapeutic dietary requirements.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes
  • Follow therapeutic and modified diet plans including diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified, and pureed diets
  • Ensure meals are visually appealing, nutritious, and properly portioned
  • Monitor food temperatures and maintain required documentation
  • Label, date, and store food items safely to prevent spoilage and waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation guidelines
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking, and receiving food deliveries
  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff, therapy staff, supervisors, and dietitians
  • Prepare refreshments and food items for special events and activities
  • Help ensure an organized, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment
Requirements

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, residential services, or food service environments
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety procedures
  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe Certification preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, or related work experience/training

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout shifts
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and tools
