We are on the hunt for a Vice President of Technology to join the crew at HQ. If you are a strategic heavy-hitter who can architect world-class tech solutions while keeping your feet firmly planted in a "shop first" mentality, this is your joint.


The Gig

As our VP of Technology, you’ll be the master conductor of our digital universe. You’ll own the macro tech strategy, safeguard our entire system, and bridge the gap between cutting-edge innovation and everyday shop operations. This isn't a "sit in a quiet corner" kind of role—we need a collaborative, heads-up leader who stays ahead of industry trends and keeps our frontline crews empowered.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Steer the Ship: Command the long-term vision, macro-level planning, and roadmap for the CHF Technology Department.
  • Lead the Crew: Provide stellar mentorship, management, and accountability for our internal tech team (including our Tech Managers and Data Analysts).
  • Lock It Down: Own our cybersecurity initiatives, keeping our corporate data, customer info, and franchise systems safe from digital bad vibes.
  • Curate the Tech Stack: Source, negotiate, and vibe-check third-party enterprise tech partners and SaaS platforms.
  • Invest Wisely: Manage the tech budget, allocate capital, and scope enterprise projects that fuel our franchise system's growth.
  • Keep Us Connected: Formulate robust database architecture, integration plans, and business intelligence goals to keep our data smooth and actionable.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • The Background: A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Business (or equivalent practical, real-world execution).
  • The Mileage: 5+ years of progressive tech experience, with a proven track record of executive leadership or senior management.
  • The Mindset: A fierce "Shop First" mentality. You understand that technology exists to serve the customer and make our restaurant crews' lives easier.
  • The Acumen: Experience in QSR and franchising are a huge plus. If you already have deep knowledge of Cheba Hut "Shoperations," you're spinning with a head start.
  • The Vibe: High integrity, self-directed drive, and excellent communication skills. You can explain complex tech concepts to non-tech people without losing the groove.
  • The Tools: Deep proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and modern enterprise restaurant tech stacks including OLO, Toast, and R365.
  • AI Fluency: Sharp literacy in artificial intelligence and automation toolsets. You know how to leverage emerging AI technologies to streamline enterprise tech workflows, unlock smarter data analytics, and optimize high-level brand efficiency.
  • Project Management Mastery (Preferred): A strong background in enterprise-level project management and system implementation. You know how to successfully roll out major software and hardware upgrades across a multi-unit network without interrupting the shop flow.   


Requirements

 The Work Environment:

  • Base camp is our collaborative, fast-paced HQ in Fort Collins, CO. This position is in office with the option to work one day from home per week.
  • Standard shifts are 8 hours (sitting or standing at a desk), but you've got the stamina to clock a 10-hour shift if a system emergency arises.
  • You are down to travel occasionally to support corporate events, vendors, or franchise locations.
  • Crucial Culture Fit: You must be entirely comfortable and aligned with Cheba Hut’s unique, marijuana-themed culture.
