Medical Expert Inspector/Auditors
Salary: $75,000 – $105,000 annually
Remote:
Must be able to travel approximately 1 or 2 weeks a month to facilities.
Must be able to maintain the ability to be 24-hour travel-ready for unannounced facility visits.

We are seeking several Medical Subject Matter Experts to support nationwide compliance inspections for a federal facility project. These roles require an experienced medical professional who can evaluate the quality of medical care provided in an institutional setting. You will be responsible for conducting on-site walkthroughs, reviewing facility healthcare practices, interviewing staff and residents, and synthesizing specialized findings into high-quality compliance assessments. Positions are contingent upon project award.
What Success Looks Like
- Conduct on-site clinical walkthroughs and evaluate the quality and compliance of medical care provided in monitored facilities.
- Interview facility healthcare staff and residents to collect high-quality data regarding medical services and living conditions.
- Synthesize complex medical findings and clinical data into clear, actionable reports that identify deficiencies and conform to federal oversight standards.
- Create comprehensive workpapers and draft specialized sections of site-specific reports that outline medical deficiencies and recommendations.
- Coordinate closely with Senior Inspectors and Lead Auditors to successfully integrate medical oversight findings into the team's inspection activities, reports, and final draft reports.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information, including protected health information and PII, collected during fieldwork.
- This position requires high physical and logistical readiness.
- Ability to travel one week a month, sometimes two, and remain 24-hour ready for unannounced facility visits.
- Capacity to walk 15,000+ steps, stand for 8–10 hours, and carry equipment through various facility terrains.

- You have 5+ years of experience working in a medical capacity, such as medicine, nursing, healthcare administration, or a closely related clinical field, credentials, and an advanced degree.
- You have a proven track record and deep expertise in evaluating the quality of medical care in correctional, institutional, or residential settings.
- You are deeply familiar with oversight standards, such as the NCCHC Standards for Health Services or federal government inspection guidelines.
- You possess superior English writing skills with the ability to translate complex medical findings into detailed, highly readable compliance assessments under tight deadlines.
- You are an exceptional collaborator who can work seamlessly within a multi-disciplinary federal oversight inspection team.
- You have U.S. Citizenship (required for this federal project).
